Emily and Matt were our final photography + videography clients for 2019 and they’re wedding was the perfect day to close out the year (and decade)! We could not have asked for a more lovely December day and Barnsley Resort provided the most beautiful setting to host this fun couple. We did their engagement session at Barnsley a few months before, and I’ve been looking forward to returning ever since!

It is pretty common to arrive while the girls are still getting ready and find them in matching PJ’s or robes, but Emily surprised us right off the bat with a bridal party completely decked out in super fun onesies. Emily is the first bride I’ve ever photographed in a tie-dye unicorn onesie, and that just about sums up why I love her so much! The couple had a really big, fun bridal party that we really enjoyed working with. Emily and Matt really wanted photos that looked natural and more organic than traditional bridal party portraits. I’ll admit that I wasn’t sure if a large bridal party would play along and give us the candid images we hoped for, but they were amazing and made it so easy and fun to capture the group’s relationship with the bride and groom!

Emily and Matt were so sweet together and I love how much they prioritized the meaning behind each moment. Their focus on one another allowed me to capture such genuine and intimate photos that I absolutely love.

Emily and Matt’s officiant gave one of the best tributes to their relationship during the wedding ceremony – be sure to watch their video to hear it! They had a huge gathering of people that love them – and their friends and family clearly know how to carry a party! Their unique style continued to shine with a surprise wardrobe change, a DJ + drums and sax, many group singalongs, and a grilled cheese food truck. We had a great time at their reception!

Emily and Matt, you have known each other since pre-school, but your journey together is just beginning. We wish you a lifetime of adventure, fun, family, and passion. Congratulations!
