Kristen and Kandon had the most beautiful “backyard” wedding we have ever seen! Her family’s historic home near downtown Marietta has roots back to the Civil War era, when Sherman left it standing as a favor to a friend. The tent, flowers, and the specially-built greenhouse for the cake room created an elegant atmosphere at the family’s home.
We loved taking portraits with the brilliant marble of First Baptist Church Marietta. In a fun tradition that is supposed to ensure good weather, Kristen and Kandon buried whiskey in the front yard 30 days before the wedding––but when they tried to dig it up on their wedding day, they couldn’t find it! Funny enough, it was [extremely] sunny all day long until a brief but intense thunderstorm shook the tent during the reception – but it didn’t stop the party! The couple and their bridal party set up some speakers and danced right through the rain and wind.
Congratulations, Kristen and Kandon! I pray that your marriage is deep and fun through the sunshine and the storms – just like your wedding day!
