I have been eager to share this blog since Allie and Taylor’s Chattanooga wedding in August! Every piece of the day was drop-dead gorgeous and Allie and Taylor were so joyful and easy to celebrate. In fact, I’ve been eager for their wedding since I first received Allie’s contact form and she mentioned that we had shot weddings for three of her friends – Katey, Kelsey, and McKenzie – all three of which were brides that we adored. We have found that people tend to share the traits of their friends, so we knew Allie and Taylor would be good people.
The other reason we were excited about this wedding is that it took place in Chattanooga – a charming town that I see frequently on Instagram but hadn’t personally visited until that weekend. Chattanooga was special to Allie and Taylor because Allie moved around quite a bit growing up, and often visited Chattanooga over the summers, so it really feels like “coming home”. Then, after meeting at UGA, Allie moved to Nashville and Taylor back to his hometown of Carrolton, so they met in the middle at Chatanooga throughout their long-distance relationship.
Chattanooga did not disappoint and because Allie and Taylor’s wedding took place at several different venues across the city, we got to see and capture lots of great spots!
We were all a little nervous about the weather – at first because it was extremely HOT in Chattanooga, and then because there was rain in the forecast. We didn’t really have a “home base” venue to hang at or do portraits in, so we prayed and hoped for the best! The best is what we got – because it did in fact rain during portrait time. We got creative and found the most gorgeous bridge in Coolidge Park to shoot under, which I am so thankful for! Also, no one complained when the rain cooled the temperature to a bearable degree. Rain is a good thing!
So yes, the venues and the couple and their friends and family were all gorgeous and beautiful, but mostly we are just so happy to celebrate this kind and joyful couple’s marriage. Congratulations, Allie and Taylor, thank you for trusting us to capture this lovely day!
