I was really excited to meet Kristen and Kandon for their engagement session at Kennesaw Mountain. Kristen and I had a video chat before she hired me as her wedding photographer and I had so much fun getting to know her and Kandon’s story.

At the suggestion of a mutual friend, Kristen agreed to join Kandon as a date on his fraternity mountain weekend. Neither had expectations of a relationship, because the friend also suggested that there were both too headstrong, but it didn’t take them long to realize that they were actually perfect for one another!

They continued to date throughout their time at UGA and have since launched their careers. Kristen is an assessment counselor at an addiction treatment center and Kandon is a pharmacist. I mentioned that their career choices made for a somewhat ironic pair, and they agreed. They both love their jobs and enjoy sharing their common passion for helping their patients and educating the community.

Kristen and Kandon were ADORABLE and so much fun to capture. After we finished the more formal “training” that our couples receive at their engagement session, they changed outfits and pulled an entire picnic out of their car, complete with a deck of cards. Their session went a little long, because we couldn’t resist nibbling on the delicious spread they brought, which they generously shared with me between shots. The card photos are not posed – they did play speed and Kandon did win (by only one card, I might add).

I cannot wait to photograph Kristen and Kandon’s backyard wedding later this year – I know that it is going to be full of fun and beauty!
