I love getting wedding inquiries from bridesmaids we have worked with in the past. Erin called me and told me that we had shot her brother, Connor’s, wedding and I remembered her instantly. Cashin and Connor had a fun and easy-going bridal party, so I knew right away that we would be a good fit for Erin and Ryan too.
We met up on MLK day for their engagement session. Ryan works in St. Simons (#jealous), so it worked out really well to have a weekday holiday, even though it was quite chilly. Fortunately, they came prepared with a big fuzzy blanket to cozy up in together!
Like many others, Erin and Ryan immediately told me, “we don’t know what we’re doing.” I am being completely honest when I say, this is my favorite thing to hear at the beginning of a session. It never fails that the couples who feel the most unprepared, or the least experienced in front of the camera, turn out to be the BEST models. Maybe because they don’t take themselves too seriously, or because they trust me and follow my lead, even when my instructions sound silly. Whatever the case may be, Erin and Ryan nailed it. They committed to having fun and before long I was barely even telling them what to do. It makes my job so easy when couples let loose and giggle and snuggle without abandon.
I can’t wait for Erin and Ryan’s July wedding!
