We kicked off the New Year of 2018 with Callie and Ross’s engagement session! Normally we would have offered to reschedule because of the unexpected cold snap that came through last week, but with Callie living in Macon and Ross living in Nashville, this was the only chance to get together before their wedding! These two were SUCH troopers in the cold, though, and embraced every minute of it. On the plus side, cuddling up for cute couple poses is much more enjoyable in this weather! (and all our summer grooms said “amen!”)

Callie invited us to her grandmother’s home in Roswell, Georgia, where Callie’s mom grew up. I know from personal experience how meaningful a family home like this can be, and I’m so glad Callie chose a spot that holds so many dear memories for her. The backyard was beautiful and featured a gorgeous grand stone staircase and wall leading around the back of the home. The stone and the bare trees really set the scene for a winter session that I think is so beautiful and romantic.

Lying just a little beyond the yard was the Chattahoochee River, which was also giving off a nice afternoon glow and made a perfect backdrop for photographs! Callie’s grandmother invited us inside to warm up before we left, and we had a great time visiting with her and Callie’s mom. We absolutely love getting to know our couples’ families before the wedding day and can’t wait to see everyone again in March – hopefully it will be a tad warmer for their St. Simons beach wedding, but even if it’s not, we know that Callie and Ross will be so easy to work with and look great no matter what! It can’t get here soon enough!
