Sydney + Ryan | Athens Engagement Photographer

Couples, Portraits

November 7, 2017

Scheduling Sydney and Ryan’s engagement session has been a bit tricky this year. Ryan has been in West Virginia for spring training and Sydney recently moved to Savannah for PT school! Their wedding is only a little over a month away and I’m so glad we found a time to get together!

I’ll admit, I was feeling a bit nervous going into this shoot – now that the sun is setting sooner, I can’t bring Evan to many of the engagement sessions and this was my first solo couple’s session! (Confession: I’m an introvert). Those nerves faded immediately once I started hanging out with Sydney and Ryan though. They were so talkative and friendly and just hands down adorable together. They told me all about their crazy long-distance relationship and how they’ve stayed best friends ever since they started dating in high school. They truly took the session and ran with it – half the time I wasn’t even directing them!

Just when we were about to wrap up, Ryan went to his car and pulled out a bat, a ball and a Tampa Bay hat. Sydney didn’t have her pointe shoes with her, but she did move through some (amazing) ballet moves for me. She has been dancing since she was 3 years old and it shows! I love when couples incorporate meaningful items and ideas into their sessions and love what these photos represent for them!

I was in love with how much they laughed and had fun with me and each other – they left me wanting to spend more time with them and I can’t wait to be there for the best day ever in December!
