Kate and Jim live in Chicago, so we met for the first time during their engagement session. Kate and I were in Grady at the University of Georgia at the same time, but we never officially crossed paths until they got engaged and hired us as their wedding photographer + videographer! The couple traveled home to Georgia for a week in October and invited me to one of their favorite places – Reynolds on Lake Oconee. Kate and Jim LOVE their family and spending time with them, so her parents’ home on the lake is a special getaway for them and I loved getting a glimpse into their relationship here!

We started on a pretty bridge and then drove around to a few other scenic spots they had scoped out beforehand. I knew that we would get along great when I noticed a patch of tall grass and Jim pulled right over, even though it didn’t look like much from the road. It turned out to be the edge of the golf course where Jim proposed to Kate earlier this year! As the sun set, Kate’s parents pulled up to the water’s edge in a boat and offered me a ride – we got some cool shots across the water and I had fun listening to the parents tease the couple while they were out of earshot.

Evan and I can’t wait to return here next year for Kate and Jim’s wedding day! I can already tell it’s going to be perfect!
