When Evan and I met Caitlin last summer, we knew instantly we would be great friends. We sat outside a coffee shop near Atlanta for our first meeting, and the more Caitlin told us about her and Hunter, the more we felt like we were talking to our couple-twins.
Caitlin and Hunter met on 12/13/14 while watching a Georgia football game at a friends house – I’d say they were off to a pretty good start. Go Dawgs! They both enjoy traveling and exploring new places, with international mission experience in Swaziland and Uganda and a special interest in London and Paris, which is where they spent their honeymoon. Their perfect day would include a local coffee shop, a wine tasting, some fall hiking, and an evening at home watching football by a fire. Or a concert in Downtown Athens. Can we say made for each other?
Caitlin and Hunter each chose professions that allow them to invest deeply in others’ lives. Caitlin is an oncology nurse in Athens and Hunter teaches english at Oconee High School. Caitlin and Hunter are extremely fun to shoot because they are always laughing and they take my cues to be silly very seriously. Their sweet and laid back demeanor is contagious and I find myself relaxing and smiling whenever I’m around them!
Caitlin and Hunter embraced their December date and made their wedding Christmas themed with red and green plaid accents everywhere. Caitlin was initially worried it would be somewhat of a “plaid explosion”, but I was in love with how it came together tastefully and beautifully! They wove Christmas music into the ceremony and reception, singing congregational Christmas hymns and performing their garter and bouquet tosses to “Santa Baby” and “All I Want For Christmas.” They even handed out little jingle bells at the end of the night for their exit.
My favorite thing about their wedding was how personal and genuine every part of it was. After listening to the heartfelt and touching speeches many gave about the couple, I felt like I had known Hunter and Caitlin all my life. It was a treasure and a blessing to work with them this year and get to know their story. We hope you enjoy this glimpse into their special night!
